      Terms & Conditions

      The following terms apply if you purchase products from us or use our website. These terms also link in with our privacy and cookie policy. Please read these terms carefully before using our website or placing an order with us. We will not update this page without letting our customers know in advance, and any terms previously agreed to on an existing or previous order will remain the same.

      Our registered VAT number is 322198808 and our AWRS reference is XNAW 000 0011 2688. We do a routine check on our suppliers bi-annually to ensure they are trading legally and up to industry standard.

      ORDER ACCEPTANCE & CONTRACT CREATION

      The placing of an order with us on our website does not create the contract. The acceptance of your order and the contract between you and our company will only be formed upon the dispatch of your product(s) ordered unless we have notified you that we have not accepted your order, or you have cancelled your order in accordance with our 'Cancellation policy' noted in the subsequent sections.

      Just to highlight what has been said in the paragraph above; a contract is not formed at the point of payment for your order taken by Robertson Wines Ltd. An order receipt or order confirmation is also not the point in which the contract is formed.

      We may refuse, cancel  or delay your order for the following reasons:

      • Lack of stock or mismanaged online inventory leading to lack of stock.
      • Payment failure or rejection.
      • A failure to verify you are aged 18 or over.
      • Acknowledgement of a pricing or description error.
      • Misuse of vouchers or offers.
      • Suspicion of fraud or illegal method of payment.

      PRICING

      All prices shown on this website are listed in pounds sterling (GBP) and all prices are listed per bottle. The prices include UK duty and taxes, unless otherwise highlighted. Delivery fees will be shown at checkout.

      We reserve the right to change bottle prices without notice in the event of changes in source price, taxation, duty and/or changes in currency rates/value. We also reserve the right to withdraw any offer or promotion at anytime without notice.

      In the unlikelihood of an error with the pricing on a particular bottle or group of bottles which you have placed an order for, we will contact you by your preferred contact method informing you of the issue and asking if you wish to proceed with or cancel your order. If you do not obtain your confirmation of chosen action we will consider this a withdrawal of your order.

      Please note we do not offer the ordering of single bottles unless specified on the product page.

      AVAILABILITY

      All of our products and services are sourced externally and are supplied to us by order, making our products and services subject to availability. Due to the nature of our business and industry we may run out of certain wines from time to time or during particular months or seasons. Which may force us to substitute a wine for something similar in price (equal or greater), quality, varietal and vintage. Or offer a refund.

      However, our primary practice is to simply delay the dispatch of your order to await the correct stock. You as the customer will always be kept up to date on the status of your order.

      POSTAGE & PACKAGING

      We deliver throughout the mainland United Kingdom. We do not deliver to BFPO (British Forces Post Office) addresses. We do not deliver to the Channel Islands or internationally.

      We use UPS for the distribution of goods to private customers. Most deliveries are dispatched and delivered in 2-4 business days, but please allow extra time for addresses in areas such as the Isle of Man or the Scottish Highlands.

      As a further verification step to ensure the recipient is over the legal drinking age in the United Kingdom. Due to the nature of the goods in transit, UPS will require an adult aged 18 or over to sign for the delivery.

      We reserve the right to restrict deliveries or terminate an active contract between you and our company in the event of numerous failed delivery attempts.

      Local delivery options are free and available to those within a 20 mile radius of our Seaham depot. They have the same delivery window as our UPS courier.

      CANCELLATIONS & REFUND POLICY

      Compensation for problematic orders is available in a few forms. In the event of an issue with your order, a refund will be offered to you under the following circumstances:

      • Bottles damaged in transit will be either be replaced or refunded to you depending on your preference.
      • If a bottle is found to be faulty or corked and you wish for a refund, you must send it back to us by pre-paid shipping with UPS for us to examine the state of the wine. The outcome of the examination will determine the eligibility of your refund or replacement.
      • We have insufficient stock to fulfil your order and will not have stock for over 5 days. We will contact you directly regarding any stock issues immediately after you place your order.
      • You cancel your order before we have dispatched it. Please bare in mind once dispatched it is no longer possible to cancel the order.

      Other forms of compensation are as follows:

      • Replacement of out of stock wines with products of equal or greater value than your order.
      • Issue discount vouchers as an apology for the disruption.

      SECURITY & PERSONAL INFORMATION

      Any information you provide to us in the form of account creation, processing of payments is handled securely using e-commerce solution software. The privacy of the information you give to us is taken very seriously and we do not in anyway share, distribute, store or sell your data. However  by placing an order you consent to the possibility of us having to check the validity and legality of your provided identity for the purpose of fraud prevention.       AGE RESTRICTIONS

      It is against the law for any person under the age of 18 to purchase, or attempt to purchase alcohol in any capacity, this also covers purchasing for friends, and family even if they are of legal age. We take our legal obligations as an alcohol retailer (and wholesaler) very seriously so we take all necessary steps to verify the age of a new customer. By placing an order with us you confirm and accept that you and the recipient of the wine are at least 18 years old. Checks will also be carrier out by our selected courier UPS with the requirement of an adult signature. If UPS are unsure of the age of the recipient they will request to view photographic ID (drivers licence or passport).
