      Price Increases for 2025

If you are a regular customer with us, you might have noticed a whole host of price increases across our full range of wines. We have put off these necessary price increases as long as possible as they should have been increased back in February. Here is a little breakdown of what they are for, and our explanation for them.

The previous government first increased duty on alcohol which did not come into affect until February of this year. Not only raising these prices but adding 7 more duty tiers that did not exist prior. Further complicating sales in the alcohol industry. For as long as we can remember in the trade, there were 2 tiers of duty. This as mentioned above, has been increased to 9 tiers, increasing the duty on each bottle every 0.5% of ABV.

The current government imposed a 'Cost of Living' duty in addition to what was already being paid. Adding another 2.5% onto each bottle. Not only that, but a new EPR (Extended Producer Responsibility) charge which covers renewables such as glass and cardboard packaging, further affecting the industry's costs.

We have been very careful to only raise these prices enough to cover these increases. This was sadly completely unavoidable if we wanted to make any money at all on a sale. We hope this was an honest and transparent article explaining what we have had to do.
